(( it's funny how much shit and fun facts you can find on the internet when u are bored.
apparently, thanks to some researches and all, Alaska was once, part of New Spain (wow we literally were e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e , I have my own doubts since it's not a well-known fact and some times it's not well shared within academics and scholars. However we know that every spanish colony that was discovered in the north of the continent was once part of New Spain so it might? ofc Raquel never really stepped on Alaska, she might have heard from Spain about a strange territory discovered and that now it was hers.
When the Americans bought Alaska, Mexicans along with other few nationalities were the first minorities to go and stablish in Alaska, Only Americans (with all the nationalities that come with them) and some Mexicans were the brave ones to stay in.
Traditional Mexican hot beverages ( Chocolate caliente, Champurrado etc) were highly appreciated.
The biggest mexican inmigration wave came in the '50s when many mexicans decided to move from California to Alaska, because of the opportunities this land offered.
Nowadays Mexicans are the largest minority in Alaska, and it's said that in a future there can be more mexicans than native americans!
In my personal experience I had a brother in law who moved every year to Alaska for 6 months to work fishing salmon, he said Mexicans were a big community there, it's interesting since we HATE cold weather (except me, I fucking adore cold weather, take me to alaska)
fun fact: there are 58 mexican restaurants in Alaska, cold burritos!
Raquel isn't really happy to go to Alaska because she hates cold weather she's used to get highly HOT temperatures from 38 to 56 in exxxxxxxxxxxxtreme places. God have mercy on us. But she's excited to go and explore new lands, it's on her spanish blood to be an adventurer!
She'd prob end adopting Sedna as well LMFAOOOO in the last Picture Sedna's drinking champurrado and Raquel is being used as a pillow by Alfred because he (tried) to stay up all night to protect his women from... bears and angry mooses.
Who'd say my OTP would be together and conquer the last frontier ? lmao
Also, Raquel has different bangs because we are in the fifties!

indeed, a very small minuscule part of Alaska (actually the one that is in the southest point XD) was from New Spain till the 1819s or something like that... most of it was russian XD later on was sold to the US incredibly cheap... 2 cents per acre!
